Hyundai Creta Review

Hyundai Creta or the ix25 is a great subcompact crossover made for precise in-the-city maneuvering. This particular Hyundai is a rather new addition to the brand’s lineup; the Creta was launched only five years ago in 2014 and is sold mostly in Asia. Though renewed just last year, Hyundai has decided to add a line of new functions and features to the 2019 Creta. The boosted vehicle comes with new tech and a bit of design and functionality revamp inside and out. Moreover, this year Hyundai introduced a new edition to the Creta trim levels – the new luxury top of the line SX(O) Executive. Overall, Creta is a very good crossover, though for a five-seater it is expensive. Now, let’s see in detail what sort of value you will get for your hard-earned cash.

Hyundai Creta is undoubtedly a great SUV and that statement is not just empty words, the vehicle has been a bestseller in Asia for years, and it is one of the most popular cars in India for sure. Creta is stylish, with a comfy roomy interior, solid tech lineup, and great safety features. Hyundai’s design has always been a hit and 2019 Creta is another proof of that statement. It is a very sleek and stylish SUV. The statement uniquely shaped chrome grille, new LED tail lights, or the awesome door scuff plates add to the sporty look. There’s a bold body line across the sides of the Creta, and the exiting cutting-edge split-type tail lamps that are very attractive and unique. The colors are modern and vibrant and the dual-tone option is superb.

Hyundai usually knocks it out of the park with their interior, especially on the upper trims. Creta interior is well-designed, full of pleasant-to touch quality materials. The cabin is spacious, comfortable and convenient, with a very exciting new sunroof and abundance of tech. There is more than enough head and legroom, seats are comfortable and, just as the exterior, can be boosted to a two-toned variant instead of the monochrome. 


There’s more than enough performance options with three available choices of engines. There’s the 1.4-liter diesel option with the 88 hp, the 1.6 diesel with the 126 hp and the petrol 1.6 option capable of generating 122 hp. All of them are running with the 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.  The strong suspension ensures a comfortable ride and, overall, the Creta provides a composed and capable performance.


The tech-savvy crowd should be happy with this one: packed full with all of the staples this particular vehicle takes it to a whole new level technology-wise. The cutting-edge tech is represented with the Smart Key Band, Wireless Phone Charger, or the Touch Screen Audio Video Navigation System, Hyundai i-Blue (Audio Remote Application) and much more. A lot of tech comes standard on most of the trims, but you’ll have to check with your Hyundai dealer to clearly understand the infotainment and connectivity options on all of the six trims. 


You can get a base model at around $13,5K and the price for the premium model goes beyond $20K. 


The Creta is a five-seater. Hyundai provides comfortable seating with more than enough leg and headroom.   

Climate control

Depending on the trim, there’s either the option of manual air conditioning, the Full Automatic Temperature Control that helps to automatically create the desired cabin environment or the Eco Coating system. Furthermore, CRETA offers dedicated AC vents at the rear that enhances the cooling performance. 

Infotainment System

The Creta infotainment is intuitive, user-friendly and generally very impressive. Actually, the whole dashboard looks futuristic. There are  even two displays in Creta: the 5-inch Touch Screen Audio with USB+MP3 and the 7-inch touchscreen with Navigation System, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity (available on the three top-tier trims). 

Storage and Space

The cabin is incredibly well thought-through, there is more than enough space for personal items. Another Hyundai perk: the luggage light and luggage net that helps to hold your luggage in place while driving.
